Nourished in Bali—A Surprising Food Journey

ree

One of the most common questions I’ve received since returning from Bali is: “What did you eat?”

As someone who’s navigated food allergies and sensitivities for years, it’s a fair question. My relationship with food has often been cautious—reading labels, asking questions, and sometimes skipping meals when options felt unsafe.

But in Bali? I ate everything. And I felt amazing.

Balinese food was a revelation. Fresh, vibrant, and deeply nourishing. Meals were made from scratch, often with ingredients sourced locally that same day. Nothing felt overly processed or preserved. Instead, each dish felt alive—full of flavor, color, and intention.

I truly believe that this freshness made all the difference. My body responded with ease. No discomfort, no allergic reactions. Just joy. And satiety. And the kind of quiet gratitude that comes from feeling safe in your own skin.

If you’ve ever hesitated to travel because of dietary concerns, I see you. I’ve been there. But Bali showed me that healing can happen in unexpected places—and sometimes, the most nourishing thing isn’t just what’s on the plate, but how it’s prepared, served, and received.
